Religious Leaders Dissatisfied With Decided Number Of Congregants

Religious leaders have expressed their dissatisfaction with the number of people the government decided for them to host per day. The president during his speech specifically said only 70 people will be allowed per service. The president said this makes them follow the standard operating procedures.

Various religious leaders, however, said this number is so low compare to the number of people that per Sunday or Friday. Most religious leaders suggest that each church be given a specific number because they vary in capacity.

Pentecostal churches opposed this saying they have high numbers of Christians.

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Samuel Kazimba Mugalu actually said the president should come out again to talk about these numbers one more time. However, he was very grateful on behalf of the Anglican Church of Uganda.

He went ahead and even set a date for thanksgiving for the opening of churches. He encouraged all Christians to get ready for 4th October 2020 so that they express their gratitude towards God.

We are yet to find out what the president will say about this if he will anyway. Meanwhile, some people suggested that maybe would have only given a percentage in regard so that it’s fair to all.

This however didn’t stop most believers to express their gratitude towards the president for considering worship places. Some churches have even started conducting services already to thank God for enabling them to stand up to this time.
