Muhammad Ssegirinya, affectionately known as ‘Mr. Update,’ served as the vibrant Member of Parliament for Kawempe North in Kampala under the National Unity Platform (NUP) banner. Today, we honor his memory following his passing at Rubaga Hospital.

Born as Richard Ssegirinya in Butale, Kadugala, Masaka District, Uganda in 1988, he later embraced Islam, adopting the name Muhammad, marking a significant shift in his personal and spiritual identity.

From his early political endeavors in 2011 to his eventual victory as the MP for Kawempe North in 2021, Ssegirinya navigated a challenging path marked by both setbacks and successes, demonstrating resilience and determination in his pursuit of public service.
