Why Renowned Media Personalities Are Preferring Their Own Platforms To Stations

Renowned media personalities are leaving their jobs in big media stations. Most of them who have not just retired have chosen to concentrate on their own media platforms. Just recently, Solomon Serwanja threw in the towel and left NBS TV.

He is venturing into his own media company focusing on investigative journalism.

He has been doing the same thing even at NBS. However, there must be reasons that he looked at that inspired him. It is very easy to speak what you want on your platform.

The bureaucracy involved in media sometimes can frustrates content building. Not only that but takes a lot of time and all this while a story is losing value and not actually news anymore.

The freedom to do what you want to do, how you want to do it is also very tempting to start off.

The interests of the station and yours may really be constraining the whole process. You may find that some stories can’t be aired on TV, but in your personal blog, its a pass.

Otherwise, renowned media Personalities have personal goals to reach especially the investment journalists.

The time when Flavia Tumusiime left NTV, she gave no reason at all. She simply said she had to leave. However she has her own platform going.

When you visit it, you can see the freedom she has therein without caring much about what people says unlike while working under someone.

Though, if this keeps happening, then big stations are going to miss out on good content from professionals.
