However officials say falling debris caused blazes as Ukraine’s air defences targeted incoming projectiles and at least one person is reported to have died and several injured.
Meanwhile Ukraine’s Air Force said it managed to down all missiles and drones in the previous two night time attacks on Kyiv.
Authorities in the western Kymelnytskyi region on Monday reported that five aircraft had been damaged at a military location.
However president Volodymyr Zelensky praised US made air defenses that had been supplied to Ukraine and he assured downing more of the Russian missiles during his late video address.
“ Russians wants to follow the path of evil to the end, that is , to its defeat, because evil can’t have other end but defeat. The world must see that terror is losing ,”Zelensky added.
On the other side Russia’s military reveled that all intended targets were hit during its recent attacks on Kyiv and other Ukraine’s cities.
Kyiv mayor describes the latest attacks as massive
Kyiv’s military administration reported three buildings were set on fire in the latest overnight air assault and in the southern Holosiivsky district one person was killed and three injured as fire started in a multi storey building.
Further two private buildings were ablaze and several cars damaged in the Darnytskyi district just across the Dnipro river.
Meanwhile Vitaliy Klitschko the mayor of Kyiv described the latest attacks as massive urging residents not to leave shelters.
It was the 17th attack on the capital since the beginning of May including a rare day time attack on Monday.
Analysts say Moscow is seeking to deplete and damage Ukraine’s air defences ahead of its long expected counter offensive which had been planned for months though it had wanted to train the troops well in addition to the more military equipment from western allies.
Russia for long has been using Kamikaze drones as well as a range of cruise and ballistic missiles since it’s full scale invasion in February 2022.
