The 35 year old Rwandan gospel artiste said he’s ready to face social out-cast challenges in church and the community following his involvement in homosexuality, and his declaration has shocked his Christian fans as well as his family members.
Laws in Rwanda do not criminalize gay actions but marriage between partners of the same sex is not accepted and most Christian churches do not support it and they believe it’s a total sin.
Nabonibo who is believed to be the first gospel artiste to publicly come out and declare has hidden his sex life for years.
To be honest, there are many people just like me in different churches out there, but they fear to show up in public because of people’s beliefs traditionally, ‘said Nabonibo in an interview with BBC.
