Rwandanese Demand Release Of Victoria University Don

Rwandanese born and raised in Uganda are demanding for immediate release of Victoria University Don Dr Muganga.

They accuse of Chief of Military Intelligent of human right mistreatment of fellow Uganda.

“Dr Muganga is Ugandan of Rwanda origin born and raised in Masaka. Therefore he is fellow Uganda who should enjoy his human rights freedom freely,” Frank Gashumba Rwandanese team leader demanded.

Victoria University Vice Chancellor Dr. Lawrence Muganga was  arrested from his Kampala office on Thursday

Dr Muganga was reportedly picked from his office by three plain clothed men who took him to a waiting Toyota Hiace vehicle popularly known as ‘drone’.

The UPDF spokesperson, Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso confirmed the incident, but said that Dr Muganga was not kidnapped as alleged on social media, but rather arrested.

“Social media reports that Vice Chancellor Victoria University Dr Lawrence Muganga was kidnapped are false. He was arrested by joint Security Forces in connection with espionage and illegal stay in the country. Investigations into the matter have commenced,” Byekwaso said in a tweet.

Victoria University belongs to businessman Sudhir Ruparelia but like many of his businesses, the University is closely supervised by his son Rajiv Ruparelia.

Efforts to get comment from Victoria University director Rajiv Ruparelia were futile as his phone was  completely switched off.
