They were however bounced by Gen Salim Saleh who told them to look beyond the cash.
Apparently, a few days ago, different musicians camped in Gulu with General Saleh for a workshop.
Many people called it begging and insinuated that these artistes were looking for financial hand-outs.
A number of musicians such as Bebe Cool, King Michael came out to reveal that this was rather a seminar.
It was geared towards seeing how best to develop the stagnant music industry.
No wonder a number of musicians such as Fefe Bussi through his Gulu song was disappointed due to lack of money
“The main reason why we were in Gulu was to see how artistes can value their intellectual properties and their brands. Some artistes were just about cash and General Saleh told them to look beyond cash at the moment.” Isaac Rucci said.
Furthermore, these artistes were in Gulu to develop a clear structure that enables them to earn through their music. This means, even when there is no physical performance, they can still earn.
The artistes who spent close to two weeks in Gulu with the General say they managed to sort out problems in the music industry for the next 10-15 years.
Some of these strategies include musicians selling their music on digital platforms.
He also advised them to strategize while putting their music on these platforms.
This is because some platforms have a bigger audience but pay peanuts.
