It should be recalled that a handwritten note has been circulating on social media. This is purportedly from Saleh towards Lukwago.
In this note, Saleh is demanding an apology from Lukwago for annoying him. He even threatened to withdraw his financial support to the Kampala lord mayor.
However, Ssenyonyi said that such issues shouldn’t even be given a platform. This is because it’s an old-age tactic of the regime to cause chaos amongst the opposition.
Joel Ssenyonyi, therefore, went ahead to say that Saleh should bring evidence to show what he has done for Lukwago. Short of that, he’s just a blogger and nothing more.
“I am surprised we are discussing these handwritten letters by Salim Saleh. It’s an old modus operandi for the regime to cause mistrust amongst ourselves. If there’s anything Saleh has done for Lukwago, let him bring the evidence. Otherwise, he has become a blogger,” said Ssenyonyi while appearing on the NBS Frontline program.
Former Leader of Opposition, Hon Winnie Kiiza, also weighed in on the issue. According to Winnie Kiiza, Lukwago has a cause that he’s fighting for. And Gen Saleh feels threatened by Lukwago thus the blackmail.
She added that whether Saleh has been offering support to Lukwago or not, it’s a matter just between the two of them. Lukwago this week blasted the technical team of KCCA.
He pointed out the obscene amount of money that is intended to be used in the construction and renovation of the 70km of roads in the capital.
According to Lukwago, this scandal is worse and more dubious than that of Temangalo. As per his calculation, each km is set to cost over 14b shillings.
