NBS News Anchor Samson Kasumba Announces That He’s Quitting Media

Veteran NBS TV news anchor Samson Kasumba has come out to announce that he will soon be hanging up his boots in the media.

This will however be a temporary move. Samson revealed that the cause of this will be to reignite his interest in a Ph.D. in Theology.

The flamboyant news anchor further revealed that he had arrived at this decision after consulting his family both in the diaspora and in the country. Kasumba added that this is one of the most painful decisions he’s ever had to make.

“After a deep conversation with my family here and in a diaspora I have decided to reignite my interests in a Theology PhD having secured the necessary funding from a reputable University. It, therefore, means that my work on air comes to a halt. It is a painful decision,” the journalist tweeted.

Kasumba is one of the most controversial figures on both Ugandan mainstream media and social media. It’s fair to say that he has those that like him and critics in equal measure.

Kasumba has a way of expressing his mind and thoughts on his Twitter page in an unfiltered way. This has usually got him clashing with many people.

The news comes as a number of NBS TV journalists have quit the station. The likes of Solomon Sserwanja, Sheilah Nduhukire, Joseph Sabiiti, and more recently Mordechai Muriisa have all quit the station.

However, being April Fool’s day, a lot of jokes and fake news is going to be aired by different people in different categories. Therefore, we shall let the test of time tell and keep you updated.
