Dr. Chrysostom Muyingo issued a warning to schools that are teaching none finalists. He said they risk losing their licenses if caught by the authorities.
Information reached Ministry of Education following the reports from media that there were plans by schools to open for non candidates to complete the syllabus of this academic year.
Dr. J.C Muyingo advised schools to adhere to the Presidential directives regarding the running of schools. He asked them to be patient until school is open to other students as well.
He emphasized the fact that any school that is bringing in other students is actually breaking the law and if caught will dance to the tunes.
The President only opened schools for candidates in primary and secondary plus finalists in tertiary Institutions and Universities. Others may have to wait till next year as solutions to Covid are being devised.
Some schools however decided to adapt to e learning especially for universities. Continuing students study online using available applications like zoom, google duo among others.
However, we can not take away the fact that some schools can’t afford running this kind of system. Most institutions argued and said candidate classes dont produce enough resources to run the school.
This is why they were thinking of opening other classes too. This however seems risky at the moment as cases keep going high plus the death rates. It simply means institutions either adhere to these directives or just wait for things to stabilize.
