The Job of a security guards is a risky one. You die guarding on site at expense of your life amidst meager salary.
However in a sign of appreciation, the Uganda Private Security Association has recognized efforts of distinguished foot soldiers who exhibited great work ethics and outstanding brevity and courage to save others on site.
Grace Matsiko Chairman Uganda Private Security Association while presiding over the event cautioned owners of security companies to pay their workers well to enhance professional standards and work ethics.
“I wish to take this opportunity to thank winners of this award for exhibiting high degree of courage and work ethics. I call upon other security guards to emulate these winners so as to professionalize the industry,” Masiko said.
He pledged to work with police to conduct continuous professional training sessions for security companies to address numerous crimes related to cyber and fraud.
According to Masiko, there are over 200 licensed private security companies in Uganda.
However to weed out quacks from the industry, Matsiko says the association intends to enforce professional standards by re-registering and licensing companies to instill discipline and conduct.
