Shock As Uganda Records 94 New Covid-19 Cases, Three Deaths

Ministry of Health in Uganda would like to inform the general public that results from covid-19 tests carried out on 19th August 2020 confirms 94 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of covid-19 cases in the country to 1,750.

The fatalities are residents of Kampala, two males aged 45 and 31 years old and a 57 year old female who died whilst in admission at different private hospitals in Kampala. They presented with signs and symptoms of covid-19.

Meanwhile, results of COVID-19 tests done on 19 August 2020 confirm 94 new cases. This brings the total confirmed COVID-19 cases of Ugandans to 1,750.

53 are alerts – fifty one from Kampala, two from Wakiso District and Buvuma.

Thirty three are contacts to previously confirmed cases. 21 from Kampala, six from Nakaseke, three from Wakiso, two from Adjumani and and one from Koboko.

Seven are cargo truck drivers who arrived via various border entry points, three via Busia, two via Lia and two via Elegu and Goli.

One returnee from Kenya tested positive for coronavirus.

Recoveries: 1,194
