Singer A Pass has accused veteran producer Washington of conning him of his hard-earned income. This incident adds to a number of issues faced by upcoming musicians in the music industry.
This is especially from the people who are supposed to help and guide them.
According to A Pass, he went to Washington in 2007 after collecting his hard-earned Shs 250,000. He wanted to record a song but the Producer didn’t work on the song despite taking the money.
The Dididada singer said that this incident happened in 2007. At the time, the producer was still living with the Goodlyfe in Nyanama. The Goodlyfe boys were yet to become mega superstars.
The Producer in the mid-2000s was one of the biggest in the land. He worked on several songs such as the East African Bashment Crew’s award-winning Fire Anthem.
He also worked on a couple of other hit songs for Bebe Cool. After quitting Cool’s camp and teaming up with the Goodlyfe, he released some of the biggest hits of his career.
Meanwhile, for A Pass, his breakthrough hit came 7 years later. It was the 2014 I’m Loving song featuring Don MC and Cindy. The rest since then has been history.
The True Story singer made the remarks at Next Media Park where a couple of artists such as Eddy Kenzo, Nina Roz, and Ykee Benda were gathered. These had a meeting to teach musicians about how to earn from their music and also how to distribute their music digitally.
