Bruno K said this after having a chat with veteran Kadongo kamu singer Lord Fred Ssebata. According to the Faridah singer, these mafias steal everything from singers.
The singer added that while speaking to Ssebata, he had a lot of pain and tears in his eyes. Ssebata said this results from these mafias who have stolen almost everything from him.
“I had a chat with Lord Fred Sebatta, naye guys the music industry has some serious mafias stealing everything from artists. It hurts seeing a legend like Lord Fred shed tears and speaking with so much pain,” said Bruno K.
It should be noted that Ssebata is one of the most celebrated and distinguished musicians in the country. In fact some refer to him as the best Kadongo Kamu singer of all time.
He gained prominence in the 90’s and 2000’s as his music was a household item. However, it seems that for the past few years, he has been languishing in poverty.
In a recent public appearance, he was seen at Pastor Samuel Kakande’s Synagogue Church of All Nations in Mulago. Apparently he was looking for a miracle. He narrated how he has family issues especially with his elder daughter who despises him.
Kakande after praying for him gifted him an envelope with millions of cash. Musicians therefore believe that with the copyright law and the Uganda National Musicians Federation, such cases will be ended.
