Musician Reagan Muhairwe alias Ray G has come out to reveal how he handles criticism that comes his way. The singer last month held a record-breaking concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval. However successful it was, there were some critics as always.
The singer said that he always sieves through the criticism that comes his way. He takes out what will positively impact him and discards what’s unusual to his brand.
The singer added that criticism is never bad but it should be in the essence of adding onto a person and not simply to decimate them.
In regards to his costume that drew much debate, the Forever singer also addressed it. The Western Uganda-based singer performed in one attire without changing it for the 2-hour set. According to Ray G, he had come to sing and not to showcase his wardrobe.
The singer added that he used to also change clothes a lot but realized coming on stage is like coming to an office. He comes to sing and people only care about the singing which he believes he did.
“People will always criticize what you do and criticism should never be bad. For my case, I take out what benefits me and leave the rest. The critics should only give criticism that will impact a person and not simply to deter them from what they are doing. For my set, I didn’t come to showcase my wardrobe but rather to sing. I used to also change clothes a lot but I realized people care much more about music which I believe I did.” he said.
The singer called upon all people in western Uganda to come and attend his Home Coming concert that will be held at Boma Grounds. This will be on the 22nd of June.
