SK Mbuga’s Wife Escaped From Sweden – State

The Nation opposed the application in which SK Mbuga’s wife desires bail pending trial, saying she’s a person who is in hiding and she jumped bail conferred by Swedish Court.

On Wednesday, the State Attorney Mrs Alito Innocent told the Anti-Corruption High Court that Ms Angella Vivienne Chebet is on wanted and that the Interpol issued a red notice after she escaped in 2017, as she was granted bail.

Ms Chebet is accused of illegal obtaining of money, a serious crime which is equivalent to maximum punishment of 15 years in jail or to be fined Shs2 billion.

Ms Chebet and her then Swedish boyfriend, Sten Heinsoo defrauded a company known as Einar Matsson AB amount equivalent to Shs23 billion, which she quickly transferred to her husband, SK Mbuga’s Barclays bank account.

Mr Heinsoo and Ms Chebet were charged with gross fraud in Swedish Court.

The wife to Ugandan socialite, Kabangala Mbuga is currently on remand at Luzira prison over defrauding billions of shillings from a Swedish man, according to Daily monitor.
