The Uganda Social Media Conference is an annual meeting that brings together key stakeholders from the government, civil society, academia, researchers, policy-makers, and the media for a constructive exchange on the impact of interactive technologies on state and society highlighting both, opportunities and challenges it brings.
“With the conference, we bring together stakeholders to discuss the role of social media in Africa, globally, mobility technology, big data and digital innovation,” said Anna Reismann KAS country Director for Uganda.
She explained that the conference will discuss and address topics namely social media and elections in Africa, citizens journalism vs gitutsl newsrooms, Digital diplomacy, impact of interactive technologies on mental health, Tackling of digital threats and the rise of global social movements.
In similar news earlier reported by Newslexpoint.com, Uganda is set to hold Africa Diplomatic intellectual Property Conference for the adoption of a Protocol on Voluntary Registration of Copyright and Related Rights.
The conference will be organised by the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), and the government of Uganda.
