The Word Is ‘Classified Budget’- Social Media Reacts As Bobi Wine Stammers With Words During Interview

NUP president, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, was at it again during an interview. This time around, it was not about fiscal policy but still it was almost related.

The former presidential candidate struggled to find the word ‘classified budget’ during a recent interview on NTV. And of course you know how social media loves such ‘spoilt things.’ The critics are tearing him apart for failure to recall such an easy word whereas his fanatics are busy defending him.

Bobi Wine had an exclusive interview on NTV to discuss issues on Uganda’s economic outlook for the 2022-2023 financial year. According to Bobi Wine the budget that was read was an absolute shambles. It’s meant to please ‘dictator Museveni.’

However, when he reached the scenario of driving his point home about the classified budget, the ghetto gladiator got lost.

He spent an almost entire minute looking for the correct word but still failed to do so. He even expressed how he hates technical words.

“Uhmm uhmm, how do they call that…jeers…uhhm the the, there’s a huge word , uhm the, the budget that’s not read… What’s that word? I hate technical words………….the budget that’s not talked about ……okay,” the former Kyadondo east legislator stammered as he fell short of the word.

And as it is, the social media streets are now in an unexplainable mode over this clip cut out of the interview. Some think that the clip was cut out deliberately to expose him negatively.

“This is an intended exposure for the second time by NTV because the journalist could have helped him with the word but he decided not to. The man was struggling looking for the “classified budget”. Now you can imagine the kind of president we would have if he was to go through,” one user said.

“Mutandiise! We all skip words in our minds during speech, but he later recalled and said it out as he was winding up,” this user defended him.

However not all were willing to let the opportunity to crucify Bobi Wine escape. They took to their social media handles to taunt his supporters and mock him also.

This is not the first time that Bobi Wine is getting bloopers in a live interview. And it’s something that his critics have always used against him saying that he’s a rookie for national issues let alone leading a country.

Some have advised him to always prepare adequately for live interviews and have helpers around. He should therefore avoid doing interviews in a ‘robadoba’ style according to some people.
