Songstress Hajarah Namukwaya aka Spice Diana has addressed the status of her relationship with singer-turned-politician, Bobi Wine. It should be noted that the singer has always been so close to the NUP principal’s family.
She’s a welcome figure in his home and a close friend to his wife Barbie Itungo. Their relationship however seemed to come under the rocks a few months ago.
This is after she appeared and performed in a concert organized by one of Bobi Wine’s political arch-enemies, Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
After that, NUP supporters started attacking and dragging the Siri Regular singer. They branded her a mole and advised Kyagulanyi not to let her near his family again.
Recently the Siri Regular singer was seen kneeling as she greeted Bobi Wine at the late Kato Lubwama’s funeral. This was interpreted as trying to get back in the good books of the Firebase boss.
However, she denied this as she revealed that there is no problem between her and the Kiwani singer. Besides, at the funeral, she greeted him as a colleague who she couldn’t bypass. Additionally, she said that she wasn’t looking for any favors.
The Source Management singer also talked about Bobi Wine’s remarks. According to her, he didn’t call artists beggars. He was only trying to advise them as someone who has been in their position once.
“There is no problem between me and Bobi Wine because we are okay. Greeting him at the burial wasn’t looking for any favors. It’s like when you find someone you know and can’t bypass minus greeting them. For his remarks, I don’t think he was calling us beggars. He was simply trying to advise as someone who has ever been in our shoes,”
She also said that she expects the leadership of the federation to change soon. What they have for now is temporary as they try to find their feet.
