Musician Spice Diana has clarified that her concert overlaps with that of veteran band singer Catherine Kusasira. The two musicians recently announced their concert dates which will be taking place next year on the 10th of January.
Diana however says that she was the first to announce her concert that will take place at Kampala Serena Hotel celebrating her 10 years in the music industry. Two months later she saw Kusasira also announcing the same date.
The singer went with her manager, Roger Lubega, and events promoter to talk to her. She promised them that she would find a way to postpone her concert. The Siri Regular singer says that she doesn’t know how far Kusasira has gone with this promise.
The Source Management singer also denied that the two concerts were political. It should be noted that Spice Diana is more of a Bobi Wine-leaning singer although she doesn’t do political activism like some artistes.
On the other hand, Kusasira is a vocal NRM/Museveni supporter who has even expressed interest in running for the legislature in the 2026 elections.
According to Spice Diana, she has the utmost respect for the Enkola ya Taxi singer. And if she doesn’t pull down her concert, Spice is confident she can still pull off the numbers needed.
“There is no problem between Kusasira and me whatsoever because I have the utmost respect for her and her daughter. I was the first to put up my concert and two months later, she put up hers too. We politely asked her to see if she can postpone if she hadn’t done enough promotion. She said she would so I don’t know how far she has gone. But if she doesn’t, I’m still confident both of us can be successful because we have different target audiences.”
