The Onsanula singer said that she saw this coming and it’s something well deserved. According to Spice Diana, she’s done a lot of projects with international singers and therefore the time was ripe for her to achieve this.
The only surprise for her is the timing but she knew it was inevitable. It’s every artist’s dream to appear on the Times Square Billboard and this was no different for her.
She went ahead to add that many collaborations are on the way featuring different international artists.
She also downplayed rumors of paying to appear on this famous Billboard. The singer said that it’s such an enormous fee to appear on the Billboard. And the majority of African artists can’t afford it.
“I’m so glad and happy after I woke up to the news of me appearing on the Times Square Billboard. It has always been a dream of mine and every other artist out there. I knew it would happen but I didn’t expect it so soon.
I’ve been working on a number of projects featuring several artists and it’s a joy that it is now paying off. I didn’t pay to appear there and neither do I think there is an African artist who pays to appear on that Billboard because it’s very expensive,” she said.
She becomes the third Ugandan artiste to appear on the Billboard for strictly music. The others are Eddy Kenzo and Azawi.
The other Ugandans to appear on this famous Billboard are DJ Herbert Skillz who was the first Ugandan to do so. And then there is former presidential candidate Bobi Wine who appeared on it because of politics.
