The Siri Regular singer was asked why they had never converged before in large numbers. As the times they only come together are like burials. The singer said that it was out of the mutual pain felt by each musician. Apparently every musician had suffered the wrath of the policies that govern the industry in Uganda.
They haven’t profited anything visible from their sweat. Therefore, it is this common understanding that bonded them together.
“It is not true that converged financial gains. It was rather from a mutual pain that all of us faced. It’s like when you tell a friend that you’re facing high data charges and they tell you it is the same for them. Then you decide to unite and find a solution. It is the same for us and we hope to turn a few things here and there into our favor,” said Spice Diana.
It should be noted that this federation was unveiled a month ago. There are quite a number of singers in the administration. These include the likes of Eddy Kenzo, Sheebah Karungi, Bebe Cool, Pallaso among others.
Apparently this group has been having quite a couple of assemblies to see how they advance their agenda. They hope to impact the enacting of the copyright law and also enforcing it too. Meanwhile the Federation donated Shs 10m as condolences towards the late Hon Kato Lubwama.
