Emerging artiste Sqoop Larma sheds light on his decision to refrain from seeking advice from fellow artists when nearing the release of new music.
He reveals that the practice of soliciting feedback often leads to instances where elements shared in confidence are later incorporated by others into their own compositions.
“In my experience, artists tend to offer advice that inadvertently finds its way into their own work,” Sqoop Larma explains, illustrating his reluctance to expose his creative process to potential imitation.
Reflecting on past encounters where well-meaning advice turned into artistic appropriation, Sqoop Larma emphasizes the importance of safeguarding his craft and lyrics from unintended replication.
“Some artists feign offering advice on projects but end up appropriating your work. I choose to keep my projects close until I am ready to unveil them to the world,” he asserts, underscoring the need to protect his artistic vision.
In a candid revelation, Sqoop Larma discloses the underlying cause of his rift with Geosteady, attributing it to the latter’s alleged betrayal involving Sqoop Larma’s romantic partner.
The fallout between the two musicians left a bitter aftertaste, with lingering tensions overshadowing any semblance of reconciliation, despite Sqoop Larma’s professed forgiveness towards the head of Blackman Entertainment records.
