Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine appreciated the late Nasser Ntege Ssebagala for paving the way for them. Bobi Wine said that the former Kampala Lord Mayor made it possible for the Ghetto residents to take part in politics.
His way of life was an inspiration to them and this is why they are now driving for political change currently. He said this while at the funeral of Ssebagala.
Kyagulanyi said he was very much inspired by Ssebagala. Given that the late was from a rich family but his English as good as one who didn’t go to school, this opened eyes of many. He made him realize that its not about the English but what change you can bring in society.
Bobi Wine said that the late has not actually died because they are the new Ssebagalas.
Obviously, this brought about ululation during the funeral. People got excited and for a moment it seemed like a political rally. Chants of National Unity Platform and People power took over the area for about five minutes and more.
It should be remembered that the Former Lord Mayor was part of NUP politically and this why BoBi wine even came around.
Ssebagala died on the 26th of September from the hospital where he had been admitted for some time. He was planning to stand as Kampala Lord Mayor on NUP ticket. This would have been the second time for him to be mayor because he was Kampala Lord Mayor between 2006 to 2011.
Most people remember him for his English deficiency as a person. Indeed he added a stone on Uganda Politics and he will be greatly missed.
