Speaker Anita Among; I'm Going To Punish All Those Who Have Participated

Stop Forming Cliques, We Need Teamwork – Speaker Among To Parliament Staff

Rt. Hon Speaker, Anita Among has warned Parliament Staff against forming cliques. She said this while launching an open-arm initiative dubbed, “Meet Your Speaker.” This seeks to build, maintain and strengthen the relationship among staff of Parliament.

Among told the staff that they are all equal, therefore, they shouldn’t take part in partisan politics.

“In this Parliament, you are all equal. No one is above the other. As such, we should all be able to work collaboratively to deliver on our mandate. I also want to caution you to refrain from forming cliques that breed unnecessary conflict, and evidently affect the efficiency of this institution,” she said.

She further urged the staff to serve the institution with dedication and commitment. Speaker Among says much as their personal growth is important, the staff should prioritize the growth of the Institution that represents the interests of the people of Uganda.

She, therefore, asked staff to dedicate more efforts to ensure that Parliament achieves its vision and mission.

At the beginning of her term this year, Among said she is going to ensure Parliament is united. So far, she is not doing bad at all when it comes to unity.

It should be remembered though that this was the vision of the late Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah for Parliament.

Deputy speaker of parliament

In other news recently published by NEWSLEXPOINT.com, deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa assured spouses to legislators that they too are part of Parliament. He said they need to work so closely with the institution.

He was speaking at the wedding ceremony of Kenneth Orik and Beatrice Akori the Agago District Woman MP.
