Strange And Interesting Facts You Didn’t Know About Prophet TB Joshua

The news of the death of Nigerian Televangelist, Temitope Balogun Joshua, popularly known as TB Joshua broke out last night on different social media platforms. Some people thought it was perhaps a hoax.

However, the news of his death was confirmed on his church’s official Twitter account. It has left many of his congregants in shock and pain.

According to a report, the cleric spoke during the Emmanuel TV Partners Meeting last evening, a few hours before he died.

As his followers and the world mourn his death, here are a few things we thought you should know about him.

His “strange” birth;

It is a widely known scientific fact that babies are born in nine months time except on very rare occasions. Well, Joshua’s was one of such rare occasions.

During his 55th birthday gathering in 2018, the prophet recounted the mysterious events that surrounded his birth.

According to him, he was in his mother’s womb for 15 months, Nigerian Tribune reports. His mother finally expelled him out on June 12, 1963, in the small village of Arigidi in Akoko, Ondo state, Nigeria.

Life in school;

While at school, teachers and colleagues called him ‘small pastor. He attended six colleges in less than one year. The cleric however failed to complete secondary school education because of poverty.

His family;

The televangelist is a married man with three children together from his wife Everlyn Joshua. His eldest daughter Serah Joshua is a graduate of the London School of Economics.

Rush for anointing water;

The apparent healing power of anointing was made believers from around the world throng the SCOAN headquarters in the Ikotun district in Lagos. The prophet has special water which is in small bottles and is said to position users “for mercy, favour, healing, deliverance, blessing, prosperity and fruitfulness”.

Many also attest that if you obtain this “healing water”, your miracle is on its way even without being physically present at the church.

The failed attempt at joining the army;

TB. Joshua reportedly attempted to join the Nigerian Army back in the days but couldn’t. This happened apparently because the train he was travelling in broke down, leaving him stranded en route to the military academy.

Philanthropy;

TB. Joshua, like many other philanthropists, is well-known for giving out cash gifts and foodstuff. Other things included other material gifts, to the poor and downtrodden who visit his church.

Net Worth;

The late is one of the richest pastors in the world. In 2011, Forbes reported that he was the third richest pastor in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of between $10M- $15M.
