Tamale Mirundi – Here Is All You Need To Know About Him

Former presidential press secretary Tamale Mirundi Sr sadly passed away last night after weeks of battling health complications. Mirundi died of lung-related complications on Tuesday night at around 11:40 pm.

Apparently, the controversial personality was placed in the Intensive Care Unit of Kisubi last month. This is after his health deteriorated. His family reported that he had been showing signs of improvement.

They were all optimistic that he was soon going to get discharged as per family sources. The doctors had informed them that he had water in the lungs that they had been removing.

However, on attempting to suck it out, it was merely blood.

“He has been in hospital for over a month. He had even started showing signs of improvement. On Sunday and Monday, he seemed okay. The doctors said he had water in his lungs. They have been sucking it out. However, today his health deteriorated and when they tried to suck the fluid out, it was blood,” reported one of his sons via a phone call.

Who Is Tamale Mirundi Sr?

He was born in 1964 to Yowana Mirundi and Molly Namatovu as Joseph Tamale Mirundi. He attended Rubaga Senior Secondary School for his secondary education and Makerere University for higher education where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and a Master’s degree in Communication.

Professionally, he was a journalist, author, and political analyst. He shot to the limelight by serving as President Museveni’s PPS until 2015 when he was sacked. This came about after the Court advised the President to fire him for inciting violence against the citizens.

By the time of his death, he had worked across different media platforms such as Radio 4, NBS TV, Top Radio, Beat FM, ABS TV, Impact FM, STV Uganda, Pearl FM, and Metro FM. Mirundi was alleged to have over 20 children by the time of his death.
