The Kyotera District health officer Dr Muwanga Edward said that the Tanzanian truck driver ’s sample was taken upon arrival at the entry border point, after he was allowed to continue with his journey on Thursday and when the results were brought back the following day, it was confirmed that he is positive. They traced for him until he was found in Kiryandongo District.
We have decided to trace all his contracts to get them tested,’said Dr Muwanga.
As a way to prevent the spread of the deadly virus, ministry of health team managed to take samples from 130 truck drivers together with their turn-boys who use Mutukula border point to enter into Uganda.
On Friday evening, Tanzania announced 53 new covid-19 cases making a total number of positive cases in the country to 147.
