Tems And Omah Lay Exhibit Maturity After Traumatizing Incident

Nigerian Artistes, Tems and Omah Lay exhibited maturity via their different social media platforms when they decided to eat humble pie. Tems through her label, Rebel Gang wrote to her fans explaining how everything happened. In the letter, she apologized for all unintended incidents that led to the arrest on 14th December.

“I’m truly saddened that attendees could have possibly been exposed to COVID-19. I would have never participated had I even the slightest knowledge that the event would not meet the standard operating procedures and put Uganda’s citizens at risk. The seriousness of COVID-19 requires responsibility from everyone as a world citizen, a responsibility I take seriously.” The letter read in part.

Tems said that during the time in prison, her eyes were opened to the suffering of especially the women and children that she found in prison.

She disclosed her willingness to help such people in the same situation. In the same letter she hinted on the possibility of coming back in the future if all goes well.

This is a very good thing because most people were even asking themselves if these artistes will ever come back.

Omah lay on the other hand went on his twitter and thanked everyone for their prayers and all help in every way.

“Big shout out to the musicians, the celebrities, fans (Again and again), my family, my friends, my Label, The Nigerian Mission in Uganda, The Presidency, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Madam Abike. Thank you all so much!” Omah wrote.

See the tweet below;

There is a lot our artistes can learn from this reaction from Omah and Tems. Most times when our Ugandan artistes are in such situations, they just become vulgar or play victim to get sympathy. However the maturity showed by the the two artistes is something we can pick a leaf from.
