The Gun Is Mightier Than A Pen- Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba

Forget what your tutors told you that there is nothing as powerful as the power of the pen. According to the first son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba the gun/sword is actually mightier than the pen and book.

That was the message he sent out to an acclaimed journalist, Charles Onyango Obbo.

The Commander of the Land Forces in a tweet directed to the journalist reminded him that he used to tell him (Muhoozi) that there is nothing mightier than the pen.

Yet according to Muhoozi who wields the power of the gun, he has more Twitter followers than Onyango Obbo who wields the pen.

“My big brother @cobbo3, you remember you told me in 1998 in Muyenga that the pen was greater than the sword. But now I have more followers than you on Twitter. So maybe the sword is actually greater than the pen,” Muhoozi said.

Onyango Obbo however replied Muhoozi saying that determining Twitter following is very problematic.

He proceeded to give examples of people who have a lot of Twitter followers than Muhoozi that have no gun. The journalist gave an example of South African comedian Trevor Noah who has a big following yet has no guns.

“Well, Twitter followers as an index is very problematic, but I see that Daily Monitor, the guardians of the Pen, with 1.2M has nearly 3 times yours and mine (.@ntvuganda has 1.5M) .@Trevornoah has 11.6M – so, comedy is mightier than many guns? Wd be an interesting debate,” Charles Onyango Obbo replied.

The first son was not having any of the journalist’s views as the debate was specifically between the two of them.

He asked him not to divert from the topic. Muhoozi added that he will probably have many Twitter followers than anyone in Africa.

“Don’t divert me with @Trevornoah. I shall overtake him one day. Once enough Africans hear the good news that President @KagutaMuseveni brought to them. My point is that I have beaten you in terms of followers. Ugandans/Africans want to hear messages of our revolution,” the General added.

A quick look at the two public figures shows that Muhoozi has 486.5k Twitter followers. Charles Onyango Obbo on the other hand has 482.5k followers. This makes it just a small margin.
