Local comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi has become the latest person to comment about the Speaker of Parliament, Hon Anita Among’s house. He says that this humongous house is most likely to become a future shopping mall.

The Speaker showed off her palatial up country residence in Bukedea. This has since left the public murmuring with some hailing her and others questioning how she built it.

According to Amooti, the home is truly a beautiful one. He has seen plenty of these in Uganda which are usually built by politicians.

According to the Amarula Family boss, most big personalities in the country build their homes in such a fashion. This is because they are aware that any time they can lose their positions of influence. Once this happens, they can lose out heavily financially. But with such houses, they can easily turn them into shopping malls, hospitals etc.

“I saw the Speaker’s home and it is indeed beautiful. I have seen several homes from politicians that are built like that. This is a master plan from them to secure their future which they know is uncertain. In case she loses her position, she can easily turn it into a hospital, shopping mall. Even musicians such as Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool, Eddy Kenzo have their homes built in such tactics. It is a plan,” he said humorously.

Meanwhile, Hon Anita Among who is the Bukedea woman MP continues to spin heads of locals with this mansion. Some justified her position and her long history in politics as the means through which she got such a house and her wealth. Meanwhile others think it’s dubious and even pointed out the iron sheets scandal in which she was involved.
