There Has Been A Lot Of Financial Indiscipline In The Country – Derrick Kiyonga

Journalist Derrick Kiyonga has said since the government came to power, there has been a lot of financial indiscipline. Due to this, there is not much government can do about the rising fuel prices.

“There has been financial indiscipline ever since the government came to power, so they cannot subsidize. Subsidizing fuel means that they either pay these fuel companies so they can reduce the prices just like Kenya did. For how long, that depends on the government and how much money they have,” Derrick Kiyonga said.

Another Journalist, Cecilia Okoth has advised Ugandans to tighten their belts because Kenya is just about to go to the polls.

“There is nothing much we can do about imported inflation. This is why the government has not really come out to give tangible solutions. Don’t be shocked when fuel gets to UGX 10000 a litre. Kenya is going to the polls and when it coughs, Uganda catches a cold.”

She had advised Ugandans to chop their expenditures because the times are tough. Meanwhile some members of the public are not happy with the government officials.

Apparently, this whole situation doesn’t seem to affect them at all. For this matter, some have threatened to walk to work in form of protest against what is happening.

“Walk to work loading…. After all our bosses can still afford them big rides and bugombe,” a one Zirimenya Daniel wrote.
