In a devastating turn of events, the capital city of Cameroon, Yaoundé, has been struck by landslides, resulting in the unfortunate loss of 23 lives.

This natural disaster has not only shocked the community but has also brought immense grief and devastation to the nation.

The landslides, which occurred in the Mbankolo area, have caused widespread destruction, leaving behind a scene of immense devastation.

Meanwhile rescue efforts are currently underway, with emergency services working tirelessly to locate any survivors and provide aid to those affected.

However  the immediate response to the disaster has been met with utmost urgency, as authorities, organizations, and concerned individuals  have joined forces to provide support to the affected communities.

Humanitarian aid, medical assistance, and temporary shelter are being swiftly arranged to bring much-needed relief to those who have lost their homes and loved ones.

The exact cause of the landslides is yet to be determined, but heavy rainfall and soil erosion are believed to have played a significant role.

In similar by NEWSLEXPOINT.com, Bududa landslides previously caused untold misery which wasn’t expected by many and it came as a shock to numerous people since the death toll keeps on rising and rising.

It should be remembered that early 2018, the minister for weather warned Ugandans about the expected heavy rains later in that year and particularly asked people living in mountainous areas to vacate before it’s too late since it would cost them dearly more than those living on flat grounds.
