The tight-knit community of Kirera in Mitooma was left reeling after the tragic discovery of the lifeless body of 63-year-old Bahweza Geofrey on a road in Kashenshero on Friday, February 14, 2025.
Geofrey, a well-known resident of Kirera, was last seen at a local trading center around 10 pm before his body was found later that night by concerned passersby who promptly alerted the authorities.
Upon receiving the distressing report, a dedicated team led by ASP Etap, Officer in Charge of Kashenshero Police Station, swiftly responded to the scene.
There, they discovered Geofrey’s body lying in the road, surrounded by stones and sticks. A thorough postmortem examination at Mitooma Health Center IV Mortuary revealed that Geofrey had tragically succumbed to injuries sustained from assault with blunt objects.
SSP Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson, affirmed the incident and assured the public that investigations are actively underway to identify the perpetrators behind this heinous act and ascertain their motives.
Recognizing past reports of violence in the Mitooma area, the police remain resolute in their commitment to ensuring that justice prevails in this case and that those responsible are held accountable.
