The Uganda Communications Commision ( UCC ) Friday night at Kampala Serena hotel decided to take the film industry to another level by recognizing the Ugandan actors and actresses through giving them awards as a way of appreciation for giving in a lot of their time to venture in the film sector.

This was a grand finale of the Uganda Film festival 2018 being organized by UCC to specifically recognize the Ugandan talent within the film industry.
James Wasula the president of UPRS, has praised the talents in Uganda, people who have written very good interesting scripts. He further asks the government to build them a place for different sceneries just in one place, this will ease the production process.

Different groups of actors and actresses won in different categories, for instance, the director of ‘’Idi Amin’s boat won cash award Shs3 million, a pack from Star times and a certificate and many others.
During the award ceremony, Aidah Nantaba, the Minister of State for ICT said she has watched Salvador and Kansiime performing and that one day she traveled somewhere and a friend asked her whether Kansiime comes from Uganda, this made her so proud.
