Health Ministry in Uganda tweeted a statement on Saturday indicating that eight new people tested positive for coronavirus, making a total number of positive cases to 694.
The ministry added that a total number of 199 people whose samples previously tested positive for the deadly virus surprisingly recovered and discharged from different Hospitals across the country.
“Results from samples tested on Friday 12th June 2020 confirm eight new coronavirus cases. The total confirmed cases stand at 694. 4 truck drivers from Elegu border entry point whilst one is a truck driver from Mutukula entry border point. 3 are among contacts and alerts, 2 from Kyotera and one from Arua, according to the tweet.
Health Minister Dr Ruth Jane Aceng is expected to update Ugandans on coronavirus response on Saturday afternoon and also make a clarification on reports of fake deadly virus results provided by Makerere University Laboratory.
