While handing out this aid, the Indicator singer said that it’s their mandate to look out for artistes. He added that it’s his office concerned with the distribution of food items.
This came after they asked why he’s the one always moving up and down with the distribution of food.
These items included posho, beans, sugar among other amenities. They also asked Big Eye about the ‘Nabanjja’ money which was supposed to be given to the artistes.
Earlier in June, UMA came out and revealed that it had handed in lists of musicians to get this aid. It’s however close to two months now since the government gave out this aid but musicians have never seen theirs.
The singer said that the artistes should stay hopeful as there were a few errors in the lists submitted.
“As UMA, we decided to hand out foodstuffs to some of the musicians in Bwaise. It’s my duty to do so since other members are doing other work. We have brought sugar, posho and beans. For the Nabbanja money, there were a few errors especially in the NIN numbers but the money shall come soon.” Big Eye said.
The musicians thanked UMA for this aid and especially Big Eye who is a born of the area.
UMA since the lockdown has been trying its level best to advance food relief to different members in the different regions. They however cite a lack of financial resources as the reason they can’t sufficiently execute this exercise.
