Uganda Musicians Association Is Set To Change Leadership

Uganda Musicians Association, UMA, is preparing to change leadership anytime this year. UMA is an association of Musicians from all walks of life in the country.

Currently, this organization is now set to change leadership. The interested parties have already picked nomination papers to proceed with this activity.

So far only two people have picked forms showing interest in the presidential position. Artists, King Saha and Cindy Sanyu have shown interest in this position.

It should be noted that Cindy has been the president of UMA since 2021 when she replaced Ykee Benda after he stepped down. So if Cindy comes back this will be her second term in office.

During the time Cindy was president of UMA, musicians have complained over a number of issues that the body has failed to solve. Unfortunately, most of the time Cindy has been missing in action.

First because of her pregnancy, then her wedding. Musicians say they can hardly list what Cindy has done in her time as president of UMA. So their query is, how can they trust her for another term?

UMA’s main purpose is to unite musicians, unfortunately, it has caused a lot of division. Some musicians like Chameleon even went ahead to create their own association saying UMA is useless to them.

Regardless of this, the elections are still going to take place on a day they are yet to agree on.
