President Museveni has revealed that Uganda is on the path to becoming a “superpower” nation. This follows the successful summits held in the country a few days ago. These were the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the G77+ China summits.
Museveni who was addressing the nation yesterday said that he was told by Russia who were some of the participants that the G77+ China was a success.
Additionally, he was told that no country can organize such a successful conference unless it’s a superpower.
According to President Museveni, Uganda might not yet be there but it’s surely on the right path. Furthermore, the President thanked Ugandans for behaving accordingly and welcoming the visitors well.
“During the NAM and G77+ china conferences, Russia told me that only superpowers can organize such a conference. We are not there yet but we are on the way. I thank Ugandans for being welcoming and behaving accordingly,” he said.
Additionally, the NRM leader also criticized opposition leaders who had taken it upon themselves to expose the potholes in the city.
Led by Bobi Wine, they planted banana plants on the roads. According to Museveni, these critics should also show the roads constructed in rural areas.
Meanwhile, the President also encouraged Ugandans to learn more languages such as Chinese and Vietnamese. This will definitely encourage more non-English speaking tourists to come to the country and boost tourism.
Several Ugandans in social media however were not enticed by his superpower claims. They pointed out that he told them that Uganda was on the verge of becoming a second-world country. However, until now, the country is not there yet.
