Is The Uganda Police Really Making Miracles?

Well, If we are to have a public debate about the Uganda police currently, the decry would be passed that the Uganda police is not acting as its role states; “To keep Law and Order”.

But, apparently the Uganda police Boss Gen Kale Kayihura, said, “The force should be overwhelmed because it’s doing miracles and wonders within the country.”

According to daily monitor, Gen Kale Kayihura said this  when he was unveiling a team of security experts from Algeria, saying Ugandans should be proud of the police for providing security despite its fewer personnel compared to other countries.

We can’t really criticize Gen Kale Kayihura, but to some extent, I can somehow supplement to his statement. Yes, the police force in Uganda has actually tried in doing their work though not in the level of expectation.

Picking up sticks and frogging the natives of this country is really a shame to the Uganda police and for really it doesn’t make it a force creating miracles in Uganda.

If Gen Kale Kayihura could imagine waking up in the morning and tell his family I have gone to work then after, in the later evening you come back with bruises narrating how you were humiliated by police for just standing at the sideways as police was escorting Dr. Kizza Besigye to his home place.

Gen Kayihura and other senior police officers are expected to appear at Makindye Magistrate’s Court today to plead to charges of torture for beating up supporters of Dr Kizza Besigye on July 12 and 13.
