This is a move by the league that will help leave more time for parties to beat the curfew time that has been set to start at 9:00 pm.
‘’Considering the government partial lockdown due to the prevailing covid-19 situation in the country, the secretariat has adjusted the kickoff time for all the remaining SUPL fixtures to 3:00 pm effective Friday 18, June 2021,’’ a letter from the secretariat reads in part.
Earlier, they used the decision in the remaining two match-days of the FUFA Big League.
Uganda Premier League clubs were recently equipped with documents by the Federation (FUFA) to enable them easily move between districts. This is because along with the partial lockdown, the government banned inter-district travel.
Match-day 27 will continue this Friday with two fixtures before closing on Sunday with a clash at Wakisha. This will be between Wakiso Giants FC Vs Express FC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Sports Stadium. The game will air on Sanyuka TV.
Other matches that will happen include UPDF FC Vs SC Villa on Friday 18 June. And Vipers SC Vs Onduparaka FC on Saturday, June 19.
