Chris reportedly booked Dj Chichi to perform at several gigs but most of them didn’t happen except for one where she played but never got paid.
Following the failed gigs, Dj Chichi got stranded in Kenya and she accumulated a bill of up to 200,000 Kenyan shillings.
With things not going her way, she ran to comedian Eric Omondi for help to bring the running promoter to book.
Eric Omondi then held a press conference where he addressed the promoter as a conman and a thief. This is after allegations that he stole $400 from the South African-based Dj.
While addressing the media, Omondi appeared to be very infuriated. He gave the promoter an ultimatum of six hours to show himself before things get out of control for him.
Omondi said the promoter has to get Chichi a business class return ticket, pay the accrued fees and give back her money back.
A few more incidents have been happening recently involving Nigerian singers and Kenyan promoters.
The first happened to Singer Fave, whose items were stolen from Kenya and narrowly survived after canceling the show. These events are happening at a time when Kenyan music is is facing competition from Nigeria’s music.
It is however unclear if the promoter will listen to the warning and return what he took.
