During the meeting three members namely Russia, China and Brazil voted in favor for the resolution while the remaining 12 members countries abstained from the voting.
However as per AFP resolution this called for the creation of a commission to conduct a comprehensive, transparent and impartial International investigation of all aspects of the act of wreck on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines, including identification of its perpetrators as well as their accomplices.
Russia still accuses the west of sabotaging, however western countries have blamed last September’s Baltic sea explosion on Moscow much as the the identity of whoever was behind it still remains a mystery.
“ We have a serious and very well founded doubt as to the objectiveness and transparency of national investigations conducted by some European states,”said the Russian envoy Vassily Nebenzia.
However Nebenzia as per APF pointed to “increased suspicions that the three probes were trying not to shed light on what happened with the acts of sabotage but rather to hide the evidence and clean up the crime scene.”
He further alleged that with the rejection of the Russian resolution made it obvious on who was behind the sabotage.
“ I think after today’s vote , suspicion as to who was behind the action of sabotage on the Nord Sream is just obvious.”He added.
UN Security Council member states gave an assurance to Sweden, Germany and Denmark of their confidence in the country’s investigation and denounced Russia’s allegations as well as dismissing them as Russian attempt to discredit investigations and divert attention from the ongoing attack on Ukraine.
