The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Central African Republic (MINUSCA), on Thursday awarded Rwandan Peacekeepers in recognition of their professionalism, dedication and discipline.
The Rwandan troops were decorated with UN Peacekeeping Medals at a parade ceremony held at Rwanbatt3 Base Camp, SOCATEL M’Poko, in Bangui the Capital City of CAR.
In her remarks, the Guest of Honour commended the job well done by Rwabatt3 personnel during the last seven months or so in CAR.
Mrs. Corner further said that the authorities were “all extremely grateful” for Rwanda peacekeepers in the region and added that Rwanbatt3 officers had shown high level of discipline, dedication, efficiency and professionalism that has collectively played an important role in the implementation of MINUSCA mandate.Follow @newslexpoint
As for the Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission in CAR
He accredited Rwanda peacekeepers saying they have not been involved in any case of sexual abuse and exploitation acts.
“It is heart-breaking to see that those whom we are here to protect suffer as result of our actions”, the DSRSG pointed out while commending Rwandan troops for their outstanding discipline.
The Rwanbatt3 Commanding Officer, Lt Col Claver Kirenga said MINUSCA leadership continued support and guidance was remarkable particularly to the Government of CAR and its citizens amid the political crisis.
The Rwanbatt3 achievements in CAR for the last six months serving in MINUSCA include providing security to the Country’s Head of State, protection of civilians and key government installations.
