The company also confirmed the news in a statement released on Monday 19th that the two parties are parting ways.
“Kobe Bryant was an important part of Nike’s deep connection to consumers,” read the message. “He pushed us and made everyone around him better. Though our contractual relationship has ended, he remains a deeply loved member of the Nike family.”
Kobe who died in a tragic helicopter crash along with his daughter Gianna and 7 other individuals first signed a deal with Nike in 2003. Even after he retired from basketball in 2016, Kobe Bryant remained a major brand representative for Nike.
I’m December 2020, an entrepreneur, Shervin Pishevar’s tweet claimed that Kobe told him in 2019 that he intended to part ways with Nike to start his own shoe line.
Vanessa Bryant celebrated their 20th anniversary on April 18th. She took to Instagram and posted a photo from their wedding 20 years ago and captioned it; “Happy Anniversary, baby,” the 38-year-old model captioned the shot. “I love you. 20 years. @kobebryant.”

Vanessa also posted a video of the couple showing affection to each other through sharing a kiss. “My wife Vanessa, it’s fun,” Kobe said in the footage. “We have a good time together. I love her tremendously. But we’re best friends, too. It’s a blessing.”
