Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is nearing a transfer to Saudi Pro League side, Al Ahli from Italian side Napoli. It’s understood that Al Ahli is locked up in negotiations with Napoli to make sure the deal is finalized in the remaining days of the transfer window.
Apparently, Napoli are prepared to let the 26-year-old go. Both teams are also reported to have reached an agreement in the fee of about 65m Euros.
However, the deal is yet to reach any green light stage from the Nigerian. Osimhen is still weighing up his other options.
Besides, he’s not interested in a loan move as he wants to do away completely with Napoli. On top of that, he wants a huge salary from the Saudi Pro League side if he’s to go to the Middle East.
“Al Ahli have submitted an initial bid to Napoli for Victor Osimhen for a package in excess of €65m. Napoli is prepared to let him go but NO agreement between the Nigerian striker and Al Ahli so far. The deal is still far on the player side, Osimhen will consider options + not open to loan,” reported Fabrizio Romano.
The striker fell out with the club last season after he accused them of turning him against the fans. Besides, the Gli Azzurri severally posted a couple of videos on social media trolling their Scudetto-winning striker.
The 2022-23 Serie A winners have already signed Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea as Osimhen’s replacement. Additionally, the Nigerian has also courted interest from Premier League sides, Arsenal and Chelsea among other top clubs in Europe.
