Victoria University Kampala has come out to address the inappropriate dress code of singer Sheebah Karungi. The singer also happens to be one of their brand ambassadors.
During the just concluded press conference for the battle between her and Cindy, the Tosobola singer showed up clad in a brassiere and unbuttoned ‘damaged’ jeans with her thong popping out.
Many people pointed out this and wondered how a University that is supposed to instill morals tolerates this. However, the University’s Chancellor, Prof Lawrence Muganga said that it is the current trend.
He said that his mother would be offended if he found him standing with Sheebah in such dress wear. And it’s understandable because such people come from an era where one had to dress by covering the whole body. However, with the current generation, it’s all about being stylish and a trendsetter.
Read the Professor’s comment below:
“I don’t see any problem with Sheebah’s dress code. This is the current generation and they dress up how they want to. My mother who comes from a different era might get offended when she finds me standing with Sheebah. And it is understandable because they are from an era where they dressed like maize from a stalk, all covered up. Currently, you might find that a person spent a lot of money buying clothes that cover the whole body on just skimpy outfits. But that is fashion and for the men who get easily aroused by this, learn to control yourselves,” he said.
It should be noted that the battle is sponsored by the University. And it’s not just Sheebah that is an ‘indecent’ dresser on stage, Cindy was just the same before she got married.
