The singer will be considered for nomination in the prestigious Grammy Awards in two categories. These include Best Global Music Performance and Best African Music Performance.
This definitely makes Vinka the first female Ugandan musician to achieve such a feat.
Speaking about the critics, the Love Panic singer said that she doesn’t even want to talk about them. This is because they are few and those who showed her love are many. For the critics, Bailando wasn’t targeting them and they should just let the song slide past them.
“Honestly I’m so glad for this milestone that I achieved. It means that I was considered for the criteria and if I meet it, then I will be nominated. Bailando was a big song and hit beyond Uganda. For all the haters. I don’t even want to address them because they are the fewest and my fans are the most. So they should just leave the song alone and not even pay attention,” she said.
Well, among those who criticized this song included singer, Victor Ruz. He said that although the song was a hit, lyrically it was null and void. He faced a lot of criticism.
The song, however, has garnered millions of views and dominates airwaves. She actually released it after having been silent for several months.
