Vipers SC Look To Defeat Maroons In Today’s Match

Vipers SC cannot afford to drop any more points early in the season as they host Maroons FC at Kitende today. The champions are yet to register a win this season though they have only played two games and it is match day six.

They come into today’s game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to KCCA. However, their opponents today defeated the Kasasiro boys by the same score in their last brawl.

Siraje Ssentamu admitted that the Maroons have had a strong start to the season with two wins, two draws and only one loss. However, he says that the need to get off the mark is a major motivating factor for the Venoms.

“Maroons is a good team but tomorrow, we are looking straight and set to win our first game this season. We haven’t been scoring goals, but the coaches have done everything to rectify these niggles and we’re ready for tomorrow. We have to pick the three points,” said Ssentamu.

The hosts will miss Paul Mucureezi and Livingstone Mulondo through injury. However, they have Ssentamu and Ibrahim Oriti who missed the last game to act as replacements.

For the visitors, a few players on loan from Vipers – Sula Mpanga, Lawrence Tezikya are ineligible to play against parent side.

In their past 14 league meetings, vipers has successfully won 10 of them. The last meeting at Kitende in a 5-0 win for the hosts and have only dropped points once in all home meetings.
