Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC, have made the decision to part ways with head coach Nikola Kavazovic. Despite serving his one-week ban, information coming is that the Serbian tactician is not anticipated to return to his position at Kitende.
Vipers suspended Kavazovic prior to the international break for an altercation with club president Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa. Additionally, sources had it that Kavazovic lacked faith in a few of the club’s older players.
Following the team’s 3-0 victory over Express FC at home, Kavazovic wanted to quit, as some news sites had previously reported, but he was persuaded to stay.
On a two-year contract, the Serb took over as manager of the six-time Uganda Premier League champions. He succeeded Charles Livingstone Mbabazi.
The Venoms will now be led by John Ayala Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza when they play the Wakiso Giants on Thursday at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.
The six-time UPL champions are yet to release an official statement confirming this news. However, in the training photos the team posted on their social media handles, he was seen nowhere.
The Venoms have had a rocky start to the league campaign. Out of the 4 league games so far, they have won two, lost, and drawn one apiece.
Currently, they sit in the 6th position on 7 points, 3 behind league leaders and rivals KCCA FC. Vipers will be hoping to fight and reclaim the title for the 7th time after losing out to SC Villa last season.
